This Indian Inspired Cover of “Don’t You Worry Child” is Amazing

In 2010, Jon Schmidt asked Paul Anderson if he could practice for an upcoming concert in his piano store.  The friendship grew as the pair with Tel Stewart, Steven Nelson, Al Van Der Beek starting making videos and uploading them to YouTube.  The Piano Guys, as they are known, create beautiful covers of everything from Bach to Bieber and have since amassed over 5 million subscribers!  Here they collaborate with Shweta Subram, an Indo-Canadian Bollywood singer who has worked with some of India’s greatest musicians & composers to create a beautiful Indo-classical cover of Swedish House Mafia’s “Don’t You Worry Child”.

Story Behind the Music and the Video

While shooting our video “Lord of the Rings” Steve’s steel cello was damaged. When we reattached the fingerboard the strings were too close to the surface and this caused a buzzing sound when plucked. The Sitello was born — a cross between an Indian sitar and a cello. This sparked an idea. We love incorporating ethnicity into our arrangements……
