It seems the beauty scene is constantly evolving, but its hard to not notice the makeup bag mainstays. Every sector of makeup has its hold grail:  for brows look no further than Anastasia Beverly Hills, for concealer it has to be Tarte’s Shape Tape, for tools the Beauty Blender.  Foundation however has been less unifying – in part due to the demand in color range and coverage type.

Enter Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Foundation, a medium to full coverage foundation that comes in 30 different shades with a true focus on the medium skin tone range.  Huda herself noted her own struggles to perfectly match a foundation which inspired her to create this expansive range.  Immediately we notice how Huda Beauty recognizes more shades beyond Light, Tan & Dark, instead this foundation segregates its shades into Fair, Light, Medium, Tan, and Rich (🙌🏽).  As most of us brown girls know, theres more to our skin color than tan.  Secondly, we are really excited to see wholesome ingredients like Argan oil & Centella Asiatica (also known as brahmi or Indian pennywort) an herb that may have antibacterial properties.

We couldn’t wait to get our hands on this, but before we did, we looked to our favorite beauty vloggers for their guidance.  We wanted to know if this foundation was truly worth the money ($40/bottle) and lived up to the hype.

We scouted the internet for a video of Huda wearing the foundation herself.  It seems she posted one on social media which we found here:

Huda’s shade is Tofee or 420G one of the rare medium shades that is still in stock at Sephora.com.

Generally speaking, its seems that every single one of these vloggers loved the Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Foundation, many noting its luminous matte medium to full coverage.  Each of these bloggers also noted how extremely pigmented this foundation was very little (1/2 a pump) going a long way especially when used with a sponge rather than brush.  The only real con mentioned about this foundation was its clinginess to dry patches and eczema.

Have you tried this foundation?  If so what are your thoughts?  Leave us a comment below 👇🏽.  We would love to hear what you think!
